Green technology is also known as clean technology, sustainable technology, or environmental technology. Whatever you want to call it, its fundamentals are the application of environmental science with the aim of protecting the environment and reducing human impact on it.

Environmental technology has a wide range of uses, yet in many areas, we still fall short of doing enough. Applications can range from something as straightforward as replacing our appliances and installing energy-efficient lighting to something more involved like constructing recycling facilities, setting up climate monitoring systems, and using air filtering equipment. It costs a lot of money and labour to complete each of these.

Considering the Environment

Most individuals nowadays are fairly conscious of the actions they take or refrain from taking that impact the environment. Numerous ecological issues brought on by human activity have led to what some consider to be a catastrophe. Global warming, deforestation, and nuclear energy hazard are at the top of the list.

"Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" is a catchphrase that has been around for a while. It was created by environmental organisations in an effort to raise public awareness of our actions and inactions. If we are unable to decrease, we must reuse or recycle items. But because it's become so commonplace, perhaps no one notices anymore.

Go Green is the current catchphrase used by environmentalists to refocus the public's attention on issues related to consumption of goods and services. The emphasis on being environmentally conscious has shifted away from merely turning off the lights when not in use and toward purchasing energy-efficient equipment and lighting. The variety of green technology products available on the market today can support attempts to "go green."

The idea of renewable resources

You have been living in a cave or under a rock if you are unfamiliar with the term "renewable resources." Here, we are urged to use renewable resources rather than wasting what Mother Earth has provided for us. The idea is that these resources we currently have will ultimately run out and be useless.

The employment of specific forms of green technology can turn detrimental if it is permitted to continue for an extended period of time. As a result, it will completely destroy the environment around it, harming all life forms that depend on that area of the environment. Therefore, when human activity depletes or destroys the ecosystem it is surrounded by, it is no longer sustainable.

We must realise that destroying the environment involves more than just destroying scenic vistas and wildlife. But sadly, it turns out that the ecological disaster we may not yet be aware of is more serious than many people think.

Too many of us have neglected or forgotten about the resources that have been acknowledged and valued by the UN and the AMNH (American Museum of Natural History). Some researchers claim that the sixth great mass extinction, which includes humanity, is currently underway. It is a frightening concept to realise that after the last big extinction, which occurred almost 65 million years ago, roughly 2/3 of all species were extinct.

The human species has created an extinction that is comparable to that one, according to these same specialists. According to their estimates, 50,000 species could go extinct every year, and by 2100, it's likely that two-thirds of all species on Earth today would either have vanished or be on the verge of extinction.

What Then Shall We Do?

Put into practise all you've learned over the last few decades. Reuse and recycle to live sustainably. All of those things will lessen waste. Mother Earth is the only one we have. There isn't another one on the horizon, at least not that any of us are aware of. So that we have it tomorrow and many more tomorrows, take care of what we have now.
